Coaching is a fresh discipline in the field of life management and problem solving.

In the same way that a sports coach would identify, explore and cultivate the innate abilities of an athlete, a life or personal coach works with individuals or groups in the realm of personal thought processes, relationships, goal achievement and more.

Coaches are trained to identify the stumbling blocks of mistaken beliefs, self-limiting thinking and tainted habits.

Coaching is about identifying alternative ways of being and doing, new possibilities for your life and true realisation of life goals.

Coaching has an outward rippling effect on your life more than simply the obvious areas focused on. You become more energetic, develop a deeper insight into yourself and others and become a more rounded human being.

Coaching is more about results than other disciplines. While coaching does identify the root cause of a behaviour, feeling or belief it does not dwell on that cause or try to analyse it. Instead coaching helps an individual discover ways to diminish the influence or effect of that cause belief.

Through the course of a lifetime people develop ways of thinking about and seeing themselves and also the world around them. These beliefs govern the way they react to challenges, think about their options and work towards an outcome. In many cases these beliefs are negative and misguided, an inaccurate way of seeing. These toxic beliefs spins the individual into thinking that life is this way and nothing can be done.

Coaching changes this overpowered state to one of empowerment. Coaching is about assisting a person to see that he or she has much more power over their environment and the outcomes of their daily lives than is apparent to them.

Why Coaching?

I'm often asked "why life coaching?"

The primary answer is that people simply don't know that there are different options open to them. They live a belief of no alternatives and that everything is limited to the way it is. In what they do and the way they do it and also how they see and think of themselves.

People generally have some level of inward blindness that prevents them from seeing what is factually so in their lives or what can be changed. Of course many are fearful of any form of change which is mostly as a result of being wedged in comfortable spot "sheltered" from the unknown. But change is liberating and coaching offers a path to change and new possibilities.
